What’s Trek?

Awana Korea Trek Club is a 3 years’ spiritual trek that junior high school kids (age 14 through 16 teenagers) find their callings that God has given to them through the Word of God, Scripture memorization and discussion, and reading the Bible for a year, 365 days, for a week, and every day.

Why Trek? – 7 reasons (A~G)

Awana Korea Trek Club is a 3 year spiritual trek that junior high school kids (age 14 through 16 teenagers) find their callings that God has given to them through the Word of God.

Bible Study

Trek’s Bible study is not a bible study that only takes place during the club time.It is a self-bible study for a week for 24 hours every day. Trek clubbers read one book of the Bible per year and study the handbook that contains themes that relate to real life. The discuss scriptures and have their bible memorization checked. .

Trek club is a small community training ground that the clubbers practice the Kingdom of God as gathering with student leaders who are passionate about changing the world, other junior high school peers who would like to grow spiritually, and those who are interested in making new friends.

During Trek small group time, teachers and students, and students and students get to expand the scope of their thinking about the Bile through 20-30 minutes of discussion about God’s Word. Thinking for oneself about their relationship with God, whether they heard at Church or home is an essential spiritual trek.

Interacting is a beginning of Trek club. Trek brings out passion of junior highschool kids for spiritual trek through various Awana games, indoor activities, outings, and both domestic and international mission trips.

Trek club gives a strong motivation that every family member should join the spiritual trek. Clubbers’ spiritual trek must become a journey that church, family, and parents and the children go together.

Trek club exists for the Gospel from the beginning to the end.
Trek’s entrance course encourages clubbers to think on their own about the Gospel and memorize Bible verses.Trek Bible Study lets clubbers hear the Gospel repeatedly and take action. Trek club’s interaction, large group, and small group (3 in 1) are also a strong tool to teach the Gospel to everyone.

Club management “3 in 1”

Trek club is processed once a week for two hours and possible to be held at any time. According to “3 in 1” club management, Trek runs in three steps in one circle.

Interaction Time I Game, Recreation, Board game, Outing

The first time is interaction time, which is forming a relationship with other people and influencing one another. During this interaction time, clubbers have dynamic Awana games, indoor activities, board games, mission, and outings. Through order of time, rules, and cooperation, and achievement, junior high school students learn what God’s community looks likes, which arouse their passion.

Large Group Time I

The second time is large group time. It is a time for junior high school kids to proclaim the Gospel, for flag-rising ceremony, for Awana prayer, and for reciting 2 Timothy 2:15. The purpose of having large group time before small group time is to help discussion during small group time. Through large group time, trek clubbers are reminded of the scriptures they studied throughout the week, get to prepare for small group time, and get ready for Bible memorization. Church, worship team, testimony, special praise, skit, and drama may be utilized flexibly depends on church.

Small Group Time I (Discussion & Check Bible memory verses)

Lastly, small group time must be emphasized the most at Trek Club. Junior high school students not only memorize the Word of God but also discuss the studied bible themes with Awana teachers and other Awana clubbers. Through this time, junior high school students may accept truth of the Bible into their hearts as well as examine how God the Bible says appears to me.

Trek Curriculum

What’s so special about Trek uniform.

247 Number

The number “247” that is printed on the uniform means “all junior high school students who are part of Trek walk along with God’s Word for 24 hours and 7 days a week.” It is the core philosophy and calling of Awana Korea Trek.

Student role emblem

Trek Club offers total 10 student roles and Trek clubbers may be in charge of one role per semester so, for 3 years, they may be in charge of total 6 roles. All students have to choose one or more roles, and depend on church’s situation; they may contribute their roles to the church.

What’s the reason for giving middle school students a role?

  • Vision
  • For all junior high school students (14-16 years old) to find what they are interested in, to examine their visions, and to prepare
  • Building
  • For new believers who haven’t gotten a chance to serve or believers who are unsure about their salvation to be encouraged and built up.
  • Training
  • For saved junior high school students who are passionate to dedicate their lives for Christ to be equipped in every area to become great leaders.
Those who are fond of the limelight should learn a role in supporting in the background. Those who prefer helping out in the back should be trained to lead in others’presence. God wants to use today’s junior high school students now, not far into the future.

Trek award gives a strong motivation to junior high school students to complete their handbooks. During Trek programs, they may be able to receive total 6 handbook completion awards and 6 club attendance awards.

Trek’s Handbook Completion Awards

If Trek students complete half of the handbook for one semester, they may receive “Per semester completionemblem.”It is a rule that students pin the emblem on the left side of their uniform.
